People needed: Whole team

Purpose: To work on overall fitness and increase sprinting speed

Directions:

1. Set up an approximately 25 square meter grid.

2. All players should line up on one corner of the pitch.

3. On the whistle, players should SPRINT diagonally across the grid to the diagonally opposite cone.

4. As soon as they reach that cone, players should JOG along the endline.

5. Once they the reach the corner, players should once again sprint diagonally across the field to the diagonally opposite cone. Players should keep jogging along the end lines and sprinting the diagonals until the end of the drill.

6. The duration of the drill can depend on the fitness level of the club. Consider doing this drill once a week. At the beginning of the season, the drill should last 5 minutes. Add 30 seconds to the drill each week until the end of the season.
